Billboard: Online Narratives

Thu 5th - Fri 20th June

New Generation Arts Festival is committed to building audiences and encouraging participation.

What’s happening?
Three billboards around the city centre produced by final year typography student Toni Kim will carry three opening sentences of a potential online story to be written during the festival by members of the public. Led by Betty Trask award winning novelist Nicola Monaghan and written by Creative Writing MA Student Gabrielle Bulmer, text entries and emails from the general public will be fashioned to produce unpredictable and wonderfully hybrid stories.

How do I get involved?
Get involved in the festival and finish the story, you can text your entries to 88890, start your text with ‘STORY’ and then enter your suggested storylines or email
info@newgenerationarts.co.uk. These entries will be fashioned to produce unpredictable and wonderfully hybrid stories.

Finish the story, the three opening sentences are:

Story 1
I THORT YOU STUD ME UP MY PC SAYS 7.35 UR L8 ITS MENT TO BE A D8…..

Story 2
THE WORLD IN TIMES NEW ROMAN IS HOW THEY DESCRIBED IT…..

Story 3
IF YOU DONT PASS THIS MESSAGE ON TO TWENTY FIVE PEOPLE IN YOUR INBOX….
