Jonathan Green

About the artist

Jonathan began his musical training when he was six years old and was awarded the Yamaha Music School (Bradford) Musician of the Year Award at the age of fifteen. He later trained at the Leeds College of Music where he studied classical harmony and counterpoint alongside jazz and was awarded the College Prize for Academic Achievement in 2001.

In 2001 Jonathan studied composition with Lamberto Coccioli at Birmingham City University’s Conservatoire where he won the Birmingham Chamber of Music Society’s Composition Prize for his Sonata for Violin and Piano. He also studied for one year in Poland with Rector Professor Marek Stachowski at the Academy of Music in Cracow as part of a European exchange programme.

In the field of digital art Jonathan has worked with Luca Fransesconi at AGON in Milan, composers Julian Anderson and Johannes Maria Staud with the Birmingham Contemporary Music Ggroup and Martin Creed at the IKON Gallery in Birmingham and the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven.
