Joanna Szalewska

About the artist

Joanna was born in 1983 in Poland. She attended Primary and Secondary Music School in Lublin (where she was given many artistic scholarships from a President of the City), which she graduated with a distinction. Then she passed the entering exams to Music Academy in Krakow with high notations and after 5 years of studying Performance Piano with Prof. Bukojemska she received a Master Degree achieving the highest notes for her final recitals and Master Dissertation. During her last year in Krakow Music Academy she spent 8 months at the Erasmus-Socrates scholarship at Birmingham Conservatoire. Joanna has played in concerts and recitals in Poland, including Symphony Hall and Crown Tribunal in Lublin, Palace of Malachowski in Naleczow, Florianka Concert Hall and Bialopradnicki Court in Krakow, House of Polonia and art galleries in Warszawa, in music schools in Germany and in Birmingham Conservatoire. Joanna is currently studying for an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Performance in Piano at Birmingham Conservatoire continuing her studies with Mark Racz and Simon Nicholls.
